Computer skills development for locals

1Association for Awareness Recreation and Unity (AARU) took initiation to conduct computer training programs for locals of Aa. Bodufolhudhoo.The main objective of the program is to conduct classes for as many locals in basic computing and help them develop computer skills that would help them to find better job opportunities. AFTF assisted this program with donation of the computer systems required for the program.

AARU opened opportunity for school students, employees and locals to get enrolled in the program. The training for the first batch commenced on 12th May 2013 and 19 locals are taking part in the program.A well-established IT institute in Male’; Professional Studies Academy (PSA) is facilitating this program in the island.

After conclusion of basic programs for locals, AARU plans to conduct advance level and diploma level programs and continue the program each year.In addition, NGO have also started a Basic English learning course targeting adults of the island. The course has started with a number of 21 participants.
