In 2010, the theme Youth Opportunities was continued in Gaafu Alifu (GA) and Gaafu Dhaalu (Gdh) Atoll from January to March. Based on 2009 experience, 2010 program focused on 4 main areas. These include Sports, trainings/Courses, Multimedia/Equipment and Construction materials.

In addition to this, AFTF also supported the Roofing of the Pre-school in Gaafu Dhaalu Vaadhoo as a pilot project. Including this project altogether AFTF funded 50 projects in 17 islands amounting materials donated to a value of USD 152,964.41. Under United World College Scholarships (UWC), a total of 6 students were awarded with full scholarships to India, Norway, United Kingdom (UK), Hong Kong and Swaziland. Donations made for the whole year adds upto a grand total of USD 254,880.49.

In 2010, In GDH and GA, all 18 islands responded well to our program although 17 islands submitted the final proposals. The Youth in islands took initiation in organizing, implementation and benefited from the social activities through our funded resources. Hence, this gives us great satisfaction in knowing we have contributed towards the development of youth social structure and the enrichment of general well-being of the islands we have reached.
