K. Huraa – Construction of Audio Visual Room

K. Huraa School’s project for establishment of an Audio Visual Room was hindered due to funding constraints faced in the implementation of the project. This project was proposed by Gaafaru School PTA to provide better sound system for each classroom with wireless microphones to conduct concerts and other activities. K. Gaafaru – Elevating Printing Machine

K. Gaafaru - Elevate Printing Machine

AFTF awarded this project to Burul preschool PTA as they were in need of a progress in the printing facilities. Installation of machine was completed within a day by a member of PTA and assistance was provided by some PTA members and council members. Installing this machine will resolve constraints faced by teachers in developing worksheets and teaching aids. The outcome of the project will result in better academic performance of the students and develop better teaching methods for teachers.

VTC in carpentry for 10th grade students of Th.Vilufushee School

Th. Vilufushi - Hunaru Program

Level 3 certificate course in carpentry started in April and is on-going in Thaa Atoll Vilufushee School with the funding from AFTF. This project was submitted by the Parent Teachers Association of Th. Atoll Vilufushee School. 15 students of 10th grade are taking part in the course. This project was implemented by the NGO, Bilehdhoo Youth Generation of Faafu Atoll Bilehdhoo. During the visit to all islands in Faafu Atoll in 2014, AFTF visited this island.The island faces environment issues in disposing of garbage. Fenced area was constructed for the disposal of garbage from approximately 1248 people of the island community. Masses of cans, organic waste and solid waste was collected in this area.
